The theme of this year's program is “Hot Topics in the Tropics”. Key issues crucial to the successful diagnosis and management of many skin diseases seen in general and referral practice will be discussed. Staphylococcal infections, methicillin resistance (MR), and multi-drug resistant bacteria have become timely topics in medicine. This year, we offer a state-of-the-art review of these important topics. We also are bringing back by popular demand ‘What’s New and Best” information for practioners from the most recent dermatology congresses. This will include material from two major congresses, the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum (NAVDF) held in April of 2009 in Savannah, Georgia plus the Sixth World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology (WCVD6) held in November of 2008 in Hong Kong. Much of this information still is unpublished. As part of our anniversary program, each presentation will conclude with the 5 key points that each speaker considers the ‘pearls’ of their topic contrasted with what was known 25 years ago. Our goal is to bring you the newest information available in a manner that will promote learning and discussion.
