New 2012-2013 CVMA President

LOCAL VETERINARIAN ELECTED CVMA PRESIDENT
Dr. Chris Cowing Installed at Annual Conference 
 
San Francisco, CA – Chris Cowing, DVM was installed as president of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) on June 29, 2012 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square in San Francisco, California. The installation took place during the annual Pacific Veterinary Conference. The CVMA is a membership organization that represents more than 6,300 veterinary professionals in California.
 
“I look forward to the challenges and accomplishments in the coming year as CVMA president,” Dr. Cowing said. “I have great respect for the extraordinary breadth and importance of our profession. Veterinarians fill roles in animal health care, food safety, research, industry, agriculture, wildlife management, and biosecurity. As president of the CVMA I will represent the interests of veterinarians in our diverse state!”
 
Dr. Cowing received his veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis in 1974. He lives in San Mateo and owns the Animal Cove Pet Hospital in Foster City. Dr. Cowing joined the CVMA Board of Governors in 2007 and has served in the CVMA House of Delegates and on many CVMA task forces and committees. He is a member of the Peninsula VMA.
